What is Trex?

Trex is a combination of 95% recycled materials that can include but is not limited to reclaimed timber, sawdust, used plastic overwrap from packages, dry cleaner bags, and shopping and grocery bags.

There are three main types of Trex decking with vary in price, durability, and thickness.

Trex Enhance – This Enhance is the entry-level option is just under 1 inch thick and comes with a 25-year stain and fade warranty.

Trex Select – The Select is the mid-grade tier that is slightly thinner than the Enhance but it comes in more colors and tones and comes with a 35-year stain and fade warranty.

Trex Transcend – The Transcend is the same thickness as the Enhance but the durability is much more than its kin.  The color options are even more than the Select and they have a 50-year stain and fade warranty.

Trex is a composite material designed specifically for building outdoor structures, especially decks, porches, and patios. Due to its durability and weather resistance, Trex is the perfect material for home decks in Tacoma and the Pacific Northwest.

One of the greatest features to homeowners aside from the aesthetic look is the lack of issues that come with having a deck made of Trex in Washington State.  Living in or near a rainforest can cause all kinds of moisture issues that can cause wood to rot then bugs and insects can move onto your deck.  Not to mention, needing to restain the deck every year is something that you will not have to worry about with Trex.
